August 2026
Erchim breeding programme — buck purchase · 7 Aug 2026 — Breeding bucks were purchased at the STREAM+ (EU/FAO/GIZ) auction in Tumurbulag soum, Khuvsgul, marking the start of the “Erchim” breeding scheme. A breeding expert joins the team in September.


July 2026
Herder Advisor Training · 22–24 Jul 2026 — The first joint training of the project’s herder advisors gathered 21 participants (13 women, 2 youth). Herder advisors act as the bridge that carries pasture-management and financial knowledge into their PUGs and herder groups.

Arbulag herders’ assembly and Common Fund training · 5 Jun 2026 — A herders’ assembly was held in Arbulag soum; 30 herders took part in the PUG Common Fund training.
Experience-exchange tour · 3–9 Jun 2026 — Leaders of the Erdene and Guchingiin Gol groups (Bayan-Ovoo) travelled with the aimag coordinator to Uvurkhangai, Ulaanbaatar and Dundgovi, visiting the Gobi JSC factory and the Mongolian Confederation of Credit Unions (MOCCU).
MOCCU savings-and-credit cooperative training · 1 Jun 2026 — 34 herders (15 women) trained on SCC operations.
Green fodder field training – Khuvsgul · June 2026 — A field training for herders was held as part of the green fodder cultivation trial in Khuvsgul.


May 2026
Common Fund training – Alag-Erdene · 16 May 2026 — 35 herders trained in Alag-Erdene soum.
Arbulag herders’ conference · 24 May 2026 — Herders of all five baghs of Arbulag soum received an introduction to the project, healthy-pasture concepts and seasonal-rotation planning.
Ikh-Uul herders’ meeting · 8 May 2026 — 45 herders attended the preparatory meeting for establishing a Herder Household Association (HHA) in Ikh-Uul soum.
April 2026
Khuvsgul field mission — The project team worked in Alag-Erdene, Arbulag and Ikh-Uul soums, meeting soum administrations, PUG leaders and herders to agree the activity plan.



February–March 2026
Financial literacy trainings – Bayankhongor — The team joined the all-members meeting of the Jinst herders’ savings-and-credit cooperative as a demonstration training, and trained the leaders of the Guchingiin Gol and Erdene groups (Bayan-Ovoo) on e-banking and the tax system.


Also: 43 herders in Bayankhongor and 54 in Khuvsgul completed the BEAR–UC Berkeley digital information training; the Hunu app’s climate-forecast pilot is running with 20 herder advisors. In total, more than 1,300 training participations were recorded in 2025–2026.
